Success requires new friends

You grow up with neighborhood kids, high school friends, & college roommates.

You form new relationships with work colleagues, country club buddies, and neighbors as an adult.

You share beers, watch games, play golf, go to parties, and have a good time.

One day, something changes inside of you. You want to make more money, have more freedom, and upgrade your lifestyle.

You explore making more money through real estate, trading stocks, and owning a business.

Eventually, you stumble across franchises and love starting with a proven model, training & support.

You learn about other franchise owners who started exactly where you are now, running multi-unit empires pulling in $250k, $500k, $1M+ per year.

Now, it’s all you want to discuss — not the game last week or water-cooler gossip.

Some of your friends will light up with excitement. Others will shift uncomfortably in their seats.

Skeptics usually start by saying, "That sounds risky…."

Then come reciting statistics about business failures, reminders about your mortgage, and warnings about “throwing away” your career.

They’re projecting their fears on you. Their words plant seeds of doubt and make you question your judgment.

Here’s what they don’t tell you about entrepreneurship:

Your relationships will evolve. Some friendships will fade. New ones will appear.

You need people who understand the 2 AM doubts, the startup struggles, and the small victories that feel like mountains climbed.

You need fellow franchise owners who:

  • Offer solutions instead of doubts
  • Share battle stories instead of warnings
  • Celebrate your wins, no matter how small
  • Push you forward instead of holding you back

Building a business is hard enough. You don’t need the added weight of other people’s fears.

Winners surround themselves with other winners.

Go find your tribe.

Connecting with other successful franchise owners in your system is the easiest place to start.

Another option is to join mine.

I’m hosting 20 franchise owners across multiple industries in Florida for a mastermind event this weekend.

We are learning, growing, and having fun together.

We only have 8 openings for new members in February.

Reply "tribe" if you want in.

Cheers

I’m spending the next week in Disney World with my family. Last night I watched my kids sing & clap to The Silly Song with Dopey & Grumpy. After dinner, I couldn’t stop thinking about Walt Disney’s story. Here’s what most people don’t know: (Side note: that was my best attempt at a grumpy face) Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper for “lacking imagination and having no good ideas.” His first animation company went bankrupt. 302 banks rejected him before he got financing for Disneyland. 302...

Running a business is like spinning plates. You get one spinning smoothly. Another starts wobbling. One crashes to the ground, shattering into a million pieces. You’d be screwed if that was on your plate. Here’s the truth about scaling: The bigger your business becomes, the more stable it becomes. The sales of a single store of mine vary 25% each week A $30k/week store swings between $22.5k to $37.5k Wild. Unpredictable. Nerve-wracking. A district (6 to 8 locations) is more stable with only a...

A rocket ship burns 90% of its fuel to get off the ground. But once it hits orbit, it takes almost no energy to keep moving at incredible speed. Business works the same way. The grind to $1M: 60+ hour weeks. High stress. Phone ringing 100 times a day. Customer complaints. Lawsuits. Employee drama. After burning 90% of your fuel, you think: “All this work for no money? Maybe I picked the wrong business…” That was me for years. Then something clicked. I realized I couldn’t eliminate the tasks....
