30 days left


Happy December 1st.

Today is a fresh start.

You’ve got 30 days to make a final impression on the year.

Before you sprint into action mode, take 30 minutes to reflect.

I do this on the 1st of every month.

Same four questions:

  1. How did the month go according to the plan I wrote?
  2. What distracted me? What did I learn?
  3. Where did I crush it? What did I learn?
  4. What’s my game plan for this month?

It’s simple but not easy.

Most people don’t do this, or just skip the reflection to jump straight to planning.

Huge miss.

The review is where the insights live.

You start noticing patterns in what actually moves the needle and where you’re lying to yourself.

This morning, I noticed some “flip-flopping” throughout the month.

I was super energized by something in the beginning, got distracted, and then got back to the original idea by the end of the month.

Classic shiny object syndrome that wasted 25% of the month.

Now I know what to watch for in December.
