The seller is 85

On Friday, I'm buying shop # 37 from an 85-year-old owner.

His kids didn’t want to take it over.

Unfortunately, this scenario isn’t unique.

There are 2.3 MILLION boomer-owned businesses in the US. Many of these are well-run, profitable businesses like the one I’m buying.

These sellers have dedicated their lives to building it, but it's time to retire.

Kids these days don’t want to own dirty auto repair shops.

They also don’t want plumbing, HVAC, electrical, landscaping, or anything that gets a little dirt under your fingernails.

It’s much more exciting to build the next AI start-up.

Many of these businesses will never be listed online since the owners don't want to deal with brokers or dozens of tire-kickers poking around their business.

It takes a lot of work to find these deals

It takes even more work to close them. This one took my team over 12 months from the first LOI to losing.

But here's the best part...

All this friction creates a HUGE opportunity for anyone willing to do the work.

Cheers!

Brian
