My first franchise (9 years later)

In 2016 I was 28 years old.

My wife was six months pregnant with our first daughter.

I bet my life savings on my first franchise business.

I just filmed a video walking through that store where it all started.

The first day was terrifying

  • Would all the employees quit?
  • Did I just walk into a huge money pit?
  • Could I maintain the sales to pay the debt every month?

Last month, the same store had a record-breaking month.

Here's what I learned about taking the first step:

The scariest part is the unknown.

So many things are outside of your control.

But here's what you CAN control: showing up every day

That first store taught me everything about "People + Process = Profit."

It's where I learned to hire, fire, coach & train.

I discovered that success isn't about having “the perfect plan”

It's about having the guts to start and the consistency to keep going when it gets hard.

Nine years later, I'm not the same person who walked into that shop.

But I'm grateful for the guy who took the leap.

Your first step doesn't have to be perfect.

It just has to happen
