Our Midas shops just set a new monthly sales record.

$4,168,431 across 34 locations in May.

That’s 9% more customers and 11% higher sales than last year.

But here’s what most franchise owners miss:

The difference between a $100k location and a $150k location isn’t the zip code.

It’s not the marketing budget or the economy.

It’s the energy your team brings every single day.

Think about it:

Customer calls about a rattling noise. Your team could:

  • Say we’re too busy to inspect it
  • Do the bare minimum diagnostic

Or tell them to come right now, identify the issue, and spend 10 extra minutes looking over the entire car.

Same location. Same customer. Same broken car.

Completely different outcomes.

One approach generates a $300 exhaust repair.

The other identifies the exhaust plus tires are worn out, resulting in a $1,500 ticket.

That’s the difference between surviving and thriving.

Every interaction is a chance to grow revenue.

In May, we averaged $122k sales per shop

The next big milestone is $150k per shop (our top 25% locations averaged $170k each so $150k is a very reasonable goal)

That puts us at $5.1M in revenue (for the month).

Part of me says $1,000,000 more per month is outrageous.

The other part of me says that's only $1,176 more sales per day per shop.

With the same buildings, equipment, marketing, and core team

We were focused on store-count growth for years.

Now we’re obsessing over growing same-store sales.

Every month we get better at finding, training, and keeping the right people.
